1. What we collect

• Your email address, when you buy an access pass or ask us to email your free diagnostic result.
• Your study progress: which questions you answered and whether they were correct, so we can show your weak sections.
• Basic technical data: pages viewed, approximate region and browser type, used in aggregate to see what works on the site.
• A technical log inside the paid study area: which screens you opened, which questions were shown (by their number), whether each answer was right, when a mock exam started and finished, page loads, whether the box with your discount code for a friend was shown, copied or hidden, and any error the app ran into. We use it only to find and fix problems, such as a question that will not load or a page that keeps reloading. It never contains the text of your answers or anything you type.

The free practice test works without an account, and its results are stored only in your own browser.

If you use “See a mistake?” under a question, we store the question’s number, your note, the kind of problem you picked, the language, whether it came from the free test or the study area and, in the study area, a short reference to your access pass. We do not ask for or store your name or email; your IP address is kept only as a one-way scrambled code (a hash) to limit spam, never the address itself.

2. What we do not collect

We never see or store your card number. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. We do not collect your license application details, social security number or identity documents.

3. Why we use it

To give you the access you paid for, show your progress, answer support requests, improve the questions, and meet our tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who else processes it

• Paddle.com — payment, invoicing, tax and refunds (Merchant of Record).
• Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and storage of your account and progress data.
• Our email delivery provider — to send your access details and support replies.

We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Account and progress data: while your access is active and for 12 months after it ends, so you can come back without losing your history. The technical log of the study area: 90 days, then deleted automatically. Payment records are kept by Paddle for as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.

6. Your rights

Write to support@cacontractorexam.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK or California you have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR or the CCPA; we apply the same standard to everyone.

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, this page will be updated first and we will ask for consent where required.

We count a few anonymous moments — that a visit arrived from an advert, that a practice test was started, reached its fifth or fifteenth question, or was finished, that the pricing section was seen, that a license classification was chosen above the prices or prep for a trade exam was asked for, that a purchase completed — together with the date, the language, the country your connection comes from (the two-letter code our hosting provider attaches to each request), the kind of site that sent you here (for example, a search engine; never the full address) and, if you arrived from an advert, that advert’s campaign name. For a practice test and for a checkout we also note which exam it is for (Law & Business, a trade exam such as General Building, or a two-exam pass); for a license choice, the classification code (for example C-33). No cookie is set for this, no identifier is created for you, and your IP address is not read or stored. Your browser keeps one word about where you came from (for example “google” or “chatgpt”) for up to 30 days, so that a later purchase is counted for the right channel, and the license classification you chose, so that the pages show the same plans next time; this leaves your device only as part of these counts and, if you buy, attached to your order so we know which channel the sale came from. The counts cannot be traced back to a person.
